Marek Majewski is a Paris-based visual artist working with photography, film, and mixed media. His practice explores fragile states of perception, moments when reality becomes porous, uncertain and begins to shift.
His work takes the form of quiet visual sequences where memory, dreams, and inner experiences gradually emerge. Through subtle atmospheres and fragmentary images, he creates spaces of suspension that invite viewers to pause and project their own interpretations.
Buried Dreams explores the fragile persistence of images that seem to surface from memory rather than from direct observation. The photographs are produced using lith printing on silver gelatin paper, a darkroom process where the image develops in highly diluted lith developer, producing deep blacks and luminous highlights.
The photographs appear unstable, oscillating between presence and disappearance. The series reflects on the way memories surface and fade, leaving only fragments behind.

Somnium is an ongoing body of work exploring dreams, memory and altered states of perception. The images are produced using photographic processes such as cyanotype and platinum-palladium printing on Japanese washi paper, whose texture and tonal qualities contribute to the soft, pictorial atmosphere of the series.
Figures, plants and symbolic objects inhabit a suspended environment where time appears uncertain and fragmented. Somnium unfolds as a contemplative landscape where photography becomes a way to give shape to subtle inner experiences.
The series also exists as a self-published artist book — 80 pages, singer-sewn with a visible blue thread, in an edition of 100.
Doors is an ongoing project combining photography and moving image. Frames extracted from Super 8 film are presented as still photographs, enlarged through darkroom experiments using traditional photographic printing on light-sensitive paper.
The project explores the fragile psychological space surrounding the act of creation, a tension between the desire to reveal and the instinct to conceal. Figures and gestures appear suspended in states of uncertainty, suggesting moments when identity feels unstable and exposed.
